Getting Started

Orchestrator is a project management and automation platform designed to help teams coordinate work, manage tickets, and automate workflows. It provides features like boards, backlogs, sprints, and integrations with tools like GitHub and Jira.

You can create a new project by going to the Build Hub (/admin/build) and selecting a template, or by going to Projects (/admin/projects) and clicking "New Project". You'll be guided through the setup process.

Orchestrator supports several project types including Software (Next.js, TypeScript), WordPress, Drupal, and Marketing projects. Each type comes with appropriate templates and configurations.

Projects & Teams

Teams allow you to organize users and projects. Teams are a PRO feature. Free accounts can see the Teams UI but need to upgrade to create teams and invite users. Projects are scoped to teams, and you can switch between teams to see different project sets.

To invite team members, you need a PRO account. Navigate to your team, click "Invite users" under the team name, and enter the email addresses of the users you want to invite. They'll receive an invitation email.

Yes! You can create multiple projects. Projects are organized under teams (PRO feature) or can exist independently for free accounts. Each project has its own board, backlog, and settings.

GitHub Integration

Go to your project settings, then click on "GitHub Integration". You can either create a new GitHub repository or connect an existing one. Orchestrator will guide you through the OAuth flow to authorize access.

Orchestrator integrates with GitHub to link branches and pull requests to tickets, automatically update ticket status when PRs are merged, show commit activity, and provide GitHub activity pages with commits, PRs, and issues.

Tickets & Workflow

New items start in the Triage inbox where they can be reviewed, categorized, and prioritized. From triage, items can be moved to the backlog, assigned to sprints, or directly to the board based on priority.

Backlog ranking allows you to drag and drop items to set their priority order. Items at the top of the backlog are higher priority. You can also bulk move items from the backlog to sprints.

Sprints (also called cycles) are time-boxed periods of work. You can create sprints manually or enable auto-generation. Items are moved from the backlog into sprints, and you can track sprint completion and velocity.

Pricing & Plans

Orchestrator offers Free, Starter, Pro, and Enterprise plans. Free accounts have basic features. Pro accounts get teams, advanced analytics, custom workflows, and more. Enterprise plans include additional features and support.

PRO features include teams, advanced automation, custom workflows, cycle insights, AI triage intelligence, and priority support. GitHub integration and basic project management are available on all plans.

Technical

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) server allows Cursor IDE and other tools to interact with Orchestrator. It provides tools for creating tickets, listing projects, and managing workflows via a standardized protocol.

Add the Orchestrator MCP server to your Cursor configuration at `.cursor/mcp.json`. The server runs on `http://localhost:7777/api/mcp` when Orchestrator is running locally. See the documentation for setup details.

Orchestrator supports NextAuth (session-based) for web UI and Personal Access Tokens (PATs) for CLI and API access. You can generate PATs from your account settings.
